About a month ago, while still living out in Los Angeles, I received an email from friend, Pitchfork editor, and 13:13 contributor Brandon Stosuy.  He was wondering if I’d be in NYC in June, (which coincidentally I would be) to  DJ a goth warehouse party at Basilica, Melissa Auf Der Maur’s upstate warehouse space.  I re-read the email.  I knew Melissa Auf Der Maur as ex-bassist for both Hole and Smashing Pumpkins, and I’d heard about her new space and the works she was doing with the local art community in Hudson, NY.  But goth party?  Sounded like a crazy dream I’d have.
